
| Personalized service, individual designs, and fresh-baked, never frozen, scratch cakes without mixes...that's what you'll receive when you buy a cake from A Cake To Remember! When choosing your wedding cake flavor, don't be afraid to try something non-traditional. Your cake should be great to look at, but even better to eat, so don't hesitate to give your guests something that they'll remember. See the link below for some popular flavor combinations. CAKE AND FILLING FLAVORS I can do any number of cake and filling combinations, so I can do a virtually unlimited number of flavors. Some basic flavors are white, yellow, spice, banana, light chocolate, chocolate fudge, strawberry, raspberry, golden almond, macadamia, hazelnut, coconut, pumpkin, carrot, orange, lemon, traditional British rich fruitcake, red velvet, butter rum, cheesecakes, and many others. These cakes can be "tweaked" with any number of different spices, flavored syrups, and different fillings to make the cake unique. I will customize cakes to include multiple batter flavors and fillings at no extra charge. I also do some special-diet cakes for individuals who are allergic, or those who follow a vegetarian diet. Cakes are covered in either traditional buttercream, meringue buttercream, or rolled fondant. Cakes can be layered with a variety of tempting flavors, such as buttercreams flavored with fruit, chocolate or liquers; fruit preserves; chocolate fudge filling; white chocolate or dark chocolate truffle; and a rich white-chocolate cream cheese filling. Cheesecakes are available in the following rich flavors: lemon, classic New York, white chocolate raspberry, lime, English toffee, chocolate hazelnut, cranberry swirl, chocolate, pumpkin, and peppermint. Flavored crusts available with cheesecakes include chocolate, hazelnut, almond, pecan and shortbread. Cheesecakes are available from the fall through early spring, but not during the warmer part of the year. PRICING The price of my cakes is determined by the actual cake design, so until I know what you're looking for I can't really give prices...I don't charge extra for different flavors or fillings on each tier, or for cakes that are shapes other than rounds. My prices are average for Richmond, and they're lower than many other bakers once all of their extra fees are taken into consideration. Cake serving sizes are calculated to provide a dessert-sized serving for an adult, so you could plan on using the wedding cake as the only dessert at your reception if you wished. If you have a specific design in mind, feel free to call or email and I'll be glad to give you a rough estimate of the price of your cake based on the design and your guest count. Because the way that people cut the cake varies between location, you will get a different serving count out of every cake based on who cuts it. I will give you a range of servings for each size cake, and you can choose which size to buy based on your personal situation (guests who are big cake eaters or not, more than one dessert at the reception, etc.) Click here for a further explanation of my pricing I offer two choices for the anniversary cake. The 6" tier on top of the cake is always my gift to the bride and groom, so it's not included in the total serving count of the cake. You can either save that tier to freeze for your anniversary, or serve it at the wedding and buy a replica of the top tier to be made fresh on your first anniversary when you sign the cake contract. (See below- to freeze or not to freeze) That will purchase a 6" cake to be made for your first anniversary so that you can enjoy "your" wedding cake without the trouble of freezing it. (Please note that if you plan on moving out of Richmond after your wedding you should not buy an anniversary cake from me unless you'll be back in town to pick it up. I don't ship cakes, so wouldn't be able to send an anniversary cake out of town.) I have a minimum of $75 for birthday and other special-occasion cakes. PAYMENT OPTIONS I accept personal checks, Paypal payments online for credit cards, and cash and money orders. If you book your cake with me I'll send the Paypal information to you if you'd like to pay that way. For payments less than two weeks before the event, I require payment via Paypal, cash or money orders, no personal checks. DELIVERY INFORMATION I will personally deliver and set up each wedding cake. I don't trust anyone else to take care of this important step. Delivery fees are based upon the distance, and I spend as much time at the reception site as necessary to make sure the cake is right. Delivery out of the greater Richmond area (i.e. south of Brandermill, north of King's Charter) may incur an extra delivery fee based on distance, and is only available depending on my delivery schedule for that day. TASTING APPOINTMENTS Cake design appointments can be scheduled by calling Kara Buntin at (804)754-2084. Appointments are generally on weekends, and I advise clients to schedule well in advance of their wedding to guarantee availability. In order to be able to offer tastings at no charge, and because I don't freeze cake, I offer a basic menu of flavors for tasting appointments, including yellow, golden almond, chocolate and certain fruit flavors.
